17. THE CYCLE OF SPLENDID LITTLE WARS. TOWARDS THE MILITARIZATION OF THE ECONOMY.
"Lobbyist democracies provoke 'splendid little wars' to increase the profits of its leading metal-industries. At a certain point, the countries used as guinea pigs of those wars respond, and the splendid little war escalates into a global war. "

We understand now all the political and cultural elements that will determine The future of the Jewish-American civilization, and the world at large, in the XXI century. Still we need to understand the final cycle that feeds the present Historic process - the cycle of technological evolution, economical activity and war. Since as we said, economic ecosystems are today dominant and so economic cycles cause the historic events we men are so fond of.

Let us then trace the cycles of bio-economic activity that flux towards an economical catastrophe, similar to that of 1929, and the subsequent Orwellian nightmare, of a very probable III World war, of which the present war against "terrorism" is a mere prologue, as the China Vs Japan and the Spanish Civil wars were prologue to the II World war...

The economic crisis of 2001.

As earlier as 1994, in our first edition of the bio-economist, in California, we predicted the 1999-2001 economical crisis. You can check the graph and explanation we provided for that cycle in this very same issue; or study the entire model of economic and war cycles in the book "Bioeconomics. The Extinction of Life" published in a small print in America in 1997 (bookmasters.com) and now available in this web. The fact that only The Bioeconomist was able to trace those cycles and its causes with such anticipation and precision, is due to the fact that Bioeconomics is a science. Not so classic economics, which acts as an ideology of power, hold by a series of myths, that favor the greedy policies of our economical elites, without clarifying at all the workings of the economic ecosystem.

Bioeconomics and Biohistory are sciences based in evolutionary theory - the only scientific theory about The future developed by humanity. So as in any other evolutionary ecosystems studied by science, in the World economic ecosystem and the historic ecosystem we call nations and civilizations there are certain biological cycles that repeat constantly as long as the economical and social causes of those cycles do not change.

Among those cycles the 80 years cycle of economical activity, divided in 10 sub cycles of eight years, called by abstract economists the Kondriatiev cycle, structures modern history. The present cycle (1928-2008) is coming now to an end. And this means an enormous instability in social history. Let us explain that cycle and why we are now in a recession, caused by the exhaustion of the computer industries, that started even before the World trade massacre contracted worldwide the economy.

The 3 industrial Evolutions.

Our Summer Issue, was a look-in-depth to the economical and historic consequences of the end of the II Industrial Evolution, so we just will outline this theme here, to fully grasp how The future will develop. What we call The industrial evolution is merely in biological terms, the evolution of a new species: metal-species. As such it has followed a biological rhythm of creation, in which Bodies of metal, brains of metal and now species that combine both (robotics) have been developed.

Basically there have been III Industrial evolutions of around 80 years length:

- The age of bodies of metal (1848-1928).

- The age of Metal-Heads (1928-2008), in which we evolved metal-ears (phones-radios), metal-eyes (cameras-TVs) and metal-brains (chips), an age that now ends.

- And finally the III Industrial evolution or age of robotics (2008 onwards) in which we fusion bodies and Heads of metal...

Those periods of economic growth come to an end when the basic machines of each R=evolution have been invented and reproduced in great numbers. At that point they have saturated the economic ecosystem (as any top predator species saturates a biological ecosystem when it grows in great numbers). Then a crisis of survival takes place. No more machines can be reproduced, and there is a global economic crisis - a crisis of reproduction of machines. Since we are in the last decade of the age of Metal-Heads and chips-brains, eyes-cameras-TVs and phones-ears have been reproduced in enormous numbers, now there is a crisis of over-reproduction of such mental machines and the subsequent economical crisis. NASDAQ plummets. Telecom companies plummet. Computers reduce price. TVs and their programs saturate the atmosphere. Profits fall. The results to the Historic ecosystem of workers, and consumers are clear: We become poorer, we cannot consume more mental machines, we are fired from our jobs on those industries. This happened again in the 20s when Bodies of metal saturated the American and European ecosystem.

The end of an era: Military Lobbyism.

Problem is that when there are so many peaceful, consumer-machines, companies can keep reproducing those machines for military use, since in war machines are wasted and can be made again. Hence the easiness by which nations and companies resort to war in those periods of economic crisis. This happened in the 30s, when countries stopped producing cars and made the equivalent war machine tanks... Now in this Bush era, huge quantities of intelligent weapons are reproduced, and all kind of telecom sensors 'exported' to Afghanistan.

We deduce that in the last decade of each age, there is an age of social unrest, extreme social inequality, poverty, military lobbyism, war and the 'collateral effects', social repression, neo-fascism, diminution of welfare goods, etc... We studied that final decade in our previous Summer issue for the entire planet. Now that only a few months latter neofascism (Global Terrorism and Global Militarism) have become truth, we will concentrate in the analysis on a paradigmatic society that leads the present economical cycle of Neofascism: America.

America is indeed playing in this era the role that Germany at the Head of the I industrial evolution played in the 20s: America is militarizing the world to keep profits in his mental industries now applied to war, as Germany did. Will the end be so catastrophic for the entire mankind? If America decides to become a militaristic state in perpetual war with visible or invisible enemies as Germany did, the future of mankind looks truly dark. If America returns to his ideals of freedom, and happiness - the real dream of America so different from the militaristic passion growing now there, day by day - it is possible for the Americans and mankind to have a future.

We might say that America will be the great protagonist of these dangerous decades aHead, a role played by Germany in the past cycle. And if canons win over butter, we will enter in III World War... But if the American dream resurrects, we will avoid such dark futures.

Germany chose the path of hate, revenge, militarism, and war, the path of fascism. So far it is the path that America is taking, since it is the easier path, the simplest way to solve problems such as the WTC attack. Yet it is not the correct one.

We understand Mr. Bush' approach. The simplest way to solve Mr. Bin Laden brutality is to kill Mr. Bin Laden. Since we have the means to destroy this planet, we just use them, make big money in lobbyism, and kill Bin Laden... Right? Wrong. Since things are more complex. So far Afghanistan has become hell, and millions might die of hunger this winter. But Mr. Bin Laden is not dead. What if he escapes (hope he doesn't) to Pakistan or Iran? Will we destroy those countries also? Many think so in America, specially those around Mr. Chenney's lobbyist cartel of military industries. Hate will grow, new Bin Ladens will appear... The right solution though would not allow those profits. So we have not taken it: to downplay the attack to avoid imitators, to treat Mr. Bin Laden as what he is, a criminal Head of a 'Mafia-like' criminal organization, instead of making him an oversized figure that inspires all those who have problems with America, and finally to solve the deep reasons of this crisis, the brutalization of the third world that brings new Bin Ladens... Instead we have done all the wrong moves to solve the crisis, but the right moves to increase profits in the stock-market and war companies. That is why our lobbyist politicians do things they know are not proper.

What was first the egg of the chicken: The economic crisis preceded the neofascist age.

"Splendid little wars" and Military lobbyism (the bio-historic term for 'fascism") grows because companies find new uses for machines in the military sector, previously repressed in an age of peace given his lethal consequences. Now with a grave crisis of over production, companies accept the use of machines for military purposes, and they find excuses for 'splendid little wars'.

That is why we predicted this political and economical crisis in advance, since bio-economics can predict economic crisis thanks to his understanding of the evolution of machines, and then, given the total submission of our politicians to economic trends, we were able deduce the political consequences of those crisis.

In other words the present economic crisis made military lobbyism stronger, and so a military lobbyist (the triad, Bush-Chenney-Powell) was elected. Their hard-core policies tried to provoke countries like China (the spy-plane affair), or the Palestinians (the Ariel Sharon policies backed blindly by Mr. Bush). China did not jump. It was smart. Yet the Arabs, corrupted by fundamentalist, militaristic inquisitions jumped to it. And the war was served. We doubt the World trade massacre, and the terrible consequences it has had for the freedom and life of Americans, would have happened without Mr. Sharon's provocations, and Mr. Bush policies. This does not justify of course Mr. Laden which hopefully will pay with his life what he did - the sooner the better, not to provide more excuses to this splendid little war. Yet it is obvious that Mr. Peres and Mr. Al Gore, would have opened a fruitful dialog with Palestinians and the Third World, that would have avoid the crisis...

Instead Mr. Bush Senior and Mr. Bush Junior, have in the past decade brought us two of such splendid little wars, that could have been avoided: the Iraq war, and the War against Terrorism. Both have profited enormously the military industries, to the point that America looks more and more like the leading economical nation of the II Industrial Evolution (Germany) - a nation specialized in war, as the engine of his economical industries. Let us pray this trend does not end haunting back the Americans in their own soil...

The end of the age of Metal-Heads: the economic crisis of 2001-8.

In our Summer Issue, "The 20-00s, the end of an era", we traced that parallelism between the last decade of both 80 years economical cycles, the age of Bodies of metal (1848-1928) that ended in the 1929 crash, and II World war; and the age of minds of metal that will end in the 2008-9 crisis, and probable III World War. So for those who want to consider in detail the parallelism of both ages we advice them to read that summer issue. In that issue we advanced also the arrival of a new form of democratic government, neofascism - the rule of democracies by military lobbies, enhanced by the rule of public opinion through violent Metal communicators, that work hand in hand validating repressive policies, of all kind.

Two politicians recently elected, Mr. Ariel Sharon, and Mr. George Bush, and his fundamentalist enemies in Islam, show all the tendencies that could trigger a worldwide instability similar to the instability reached with the arrival of Hitler to power in Germany: Militarism, incapacity to negotiate with their enemies, connection to the great military industrial complex of their nations. It was only a question of time, that such attitude triggered a brutal reaction on the other side of the equation of war: Cuba, China or an Islamic nation, militaristic inquisitions belonging to long-time corrupted Humanistic cultures. Those surviving verbal cultures are opposed to the Western economic culture by the Paradox of History. So they are natural, targeted' enemies of the West economic culture, fought by that industrial military complex. Given the passivity of Cuba and China to provocation, it has been inquisitorial Islam (fundamentalism) which first committed an act of war against the Jewish-American culture, under the extreme pressure to which it has been submitted since Ariel Sharon took power. So now we are again in a cycle of war, that you can foresee in detail looking at that link. Let us bring here the graphs, which as early as 1994, appeared in "The Vortex of History", predicting the amazing yet logic cycles of bio-economics:

In the graph, we can relate all modern wars to crises of reproduction of machines. Each new wave of war machines brings an age of worldwide wars. Those wars take place in a cyclical manner, about every 80 years, the life span of a human generation o 'nation' in control of a new type of machine [which is also the length of a long economical cycle of production]. Thus, the coincidence of the Economic cycle of reproduction of machines, the social cycle of nations attached to a top predator machine [England and the railroad, America and the Metal-mind] and the war cycle of nations confronting economic rivals, make us believe all those cycles are related. The systematic reproduction and use of military machines causes wars. The development of gunboats in Great Britain allowed the World Wars of 1763 against Spain and France. 90 years later, the development of railroads allowed the wars of 1860s in Germany and America. 80 years later the development of cars=tanks and planes=bombers brought about World War II.

All machines have a dual use as a weapon and a peace machine, but when the market saturates for the peace machine, there is financial crisis, shares go down, and companies that produced peace machines switch to weapons' production. Since weapons are very expensive machines, 'consumed' easily in wars, they are more profitable than peace machines. Next, those companies lobbies pay politicians who create a dramatic occasion for War, based in a confrontation against an economic rival. It is an 80-year economic cycle, which invariably brings a war between two economic powers, that increase their war production lines and economic profits in this manner. The Railroad wars of the 1860s, were partially caused by the Railroad lobbies of Germany and New England after a big crash in railroad shares [Mr. Lincoln had been a lobbyist for the Illinois Railroad Company for many years]. The tank-bomber wars of the 1940s were caused by the iron, plane and car industry of Germany, when, after the general collapse of those industries in the aftermath of the 20s crisis, those industries financed Hitler. The probable robotic wars of the 2020s between America, and the Chinese, if they come about, will be a part of that cycle as a consequence of an excessive reproduction of computers. So we are now entering the last decade of the cycle.

We are now in the age of excessive reproduction of computers and the first mini-crisis foreseen in a previous article published on the net in 1996 has already taken place. If we look at the crisis of 1929, it also started with a mini-crisis in 1921. According to which there should be a 'big crisis' of over production of computers, in 2008 [similar to the 1848, and 1929 crisis of railroad and car over production]. That crisis might turn into the Robotic Wars... around 2018... in the same way as the crisis of over production of railroads in 1848, led us ten years later into the Civil and German Wars won with railroads, and the crisis of production of cars in 1929, led to World War II in 1939, won with tanks=cars and planes=bombers...

Hence we are now in the 'happy 20s' of creation of wealth with computers, which will be followed by the critical 30s, with a full crisis of excessive reproduction of computers, which can be solved either with 'butter' o 'terminators'. The parallelisms are awesome. The happy 20s were an age of massive speculation in car companies - the top predator product at the time, which today is the computer. The rich became much richer because of the excessive speculation in car shares, which were overvalued - as if the reproduction of such machines could go on forever. At the same time the middle and lower classes were losing their jobs to the new systems of reproduction of machines [chain production]. Today they are losing their jobs on a worldwide scale to robots and computers. politicians were corrupted and did not want to interfere with the speculative process. The growing poverty of the masses by lack of credit in human goods, all used by the stock market, went largely unnoticed. Suddenly the bubble economy exploded since the poor had no jobs or income to buy cars. Yet the system did not acknowledge these errors and it did not change policies to promote credit in human goods. Instead companies transformed the top predator product, the car, into a tank and their governments went to war. If Economists today do not acknowledge the nature of such war-economical crises, when the massive crack on computer speculation takes place at the end of this decade, it is very possible that companies will switch production to security products and weapons. Then, the spiral of neofascism, police states, and robotic wars will start.

The Cycles of war

A definitive prove of the existence of those cycles of evolutions of machines, are the cycles of war, which take place between each of those Industrial evolutions. Are those crisis taking place also in the History of America? Yes they do Indeed, the cycles of war and Economic Evolution (80 year Kondriatiev cycle) is also the key to an analysis of the history and future of America. And we can see how exactly happens in America, analyzing the main informative organ of the evolution of machines, the stock-market that represents the volume of reproduction of machines by company-mothers. Indeed, our 3 ages in the evolution of machines, (railroads: XIX C. Bodies of metal: 1848-1928, and Metal-Heads: 1929 12009) so important to modern history are also related to the cycles of the stock-market growth age: as machines reproduce in growing numbers, the stock-market grows, when that reproduction is halted, at the end of each cycle of industrial evolution, there is an economical crisis signaled by a stock-market financial crisis.

The reason of that parallelism between economical cycles and stock-market cycles is the fact that the stock-market really measures the re=production of Company-mothers, the number of machines a company mother reproduces and sells. So as soon as we translate the meaning of stock-market growth curves into biology is easy to understand the relationship between the physical real economy of machines, and the informative, parallel language of money. Money is a language that values economic products, so its growth is parallel to that of the machines that shape our economy. When more machines there are more money there are for the company-mothers that make machines. This is sort of an obvious relationship and people value company-mothers automatically by their size which depends on their production of machines.

So money and stocks mean the size of a company-mother, and the quality as organs of energy and information, of its machines. It follows that the stock-curve is parallel, displaced in time, in a way 'forecasting' the future population of machines of a given species. So the biological changes in the population of machines over the Earth, are perfectly monitored, anticipated by stock markets. In the 29 the companies of bodies of metal that have saturated the human ecosystems with railroads and we had not yet built a sale infrastructure for their small land machines - the car. So the entire sector of bodies of metal entered in crisis. But the new technologies that would invade us soon, the radio systems of America got a lot of attention. In the 20s RCA had gone for 1 to 500 $, for its radio station. It was the machine of he future and stockrats, guessed that it would reproduce in great numbers. Today they do the same with webs of internet that they anticipate will be pieces of the brain of the Metal-earth, the brain of the economic ecosystem, mutating into an organism. And as such that brain will use and reproduce money at pleasure to organize the economic organism, as our bodies give DNA orders in genetic code. Money will become the code of the mind of Matrix, The Metal-earth. It has already become in the internal webs of banks and stock-markets that code, which values companies, and so web companies grow. The consequence is obvious. Machines grow and their growth is the key to understand stock-markets. People commit suicide multiplying those machines to get some money, some part in the cake of the economic ecosystem, to form part of those growing machines.

This has happened 3 times, around 3 families of machines, the steam machines of the XIX century, the electric and oil-based bodies of machines of the turn of the century, and the metal-Heads, brain-chips and TV-eyes, and radio-ears of the XX century. Now we witness the total invasion of our world ecosystem by those metal-minds, many of them fusioning in Robots, in a new species of machines that will dominate the century that comes

The American cycles of economic growth in Wall Street.

Let us explain mathematically and politically those cycles of machines in a single nation - America, where the ages of steam machines, of bodies of metal and metal-Heads are clearly signaled by stock markets in the stock cycle. The reproduction of machines, and their economic activity can be followed mathematically in the activities of stock-markets. They are the economic brain that invents money and delivers orders to companies, to reproduce machines.

On the other hand recent history provides us with an enormous quantity of data, about American wars. So, it is easy to explain the relationship between economic cycles, stock-market cycles, political and military cycles, just looking at a few graphs of American stocks... and looking how overproduction crisis cause stock-crashes, and soon lobbies pay dramatic politicians to declare war... The clearest proof of the relationship which exists between economical cycles of reproduction of machines and Cycles of war, can be found in the behavior of stock-markets which measure the reproduction of machines by 'company-mothers'.

The stock-market is the 'bank' of companies. Companies invent money in the stock market, inventing stock-paper. Those shares are then valued according to the perspective of profits a company has. However, because stock-holders have the enormous privilege of determining the price of company shares, speculators tend to overprice them in order to obtain free money. Only when there is strong evidence that the reproduction of machines is excessive, do markets crash. It is then, when the cycle of war begins

In the next graph, we can see how the demand for metal-species created by second World War, ended the 1929 economic crisis of overproduction of cars, now converted into tanks; and substituted consumers by flows of soldiers. The income of the rich grew exponentially; while the "Wealth of Nations" in words of Adam Smith, grew even more as more machines were created and destroyed in battlefields. When the War ended, again the "Wealth of Nations" slowed down, and so did the main consequence of that Wealth: the death of mankind.

It is then clear that modern wars are economic processes, embedded in the very same structure of "monetary and machine reproduction". Since the evolution of technology makes each new lethal machine much more able to kill humans, there is also a progression in the number of casualties that each World War causes. The progression is almost geometric: in each new World War, 10 times as many people die than in the previous one If this progression continues; 50 million people died in W.W. II, in two more war cycles, most humans may die. In the next cycle 500 million may die. In two more cycles, 5000 million humans may die.

The next graph of American stocks show that American wars come every 80 years, 10 years after a crash of excessive reproduction of Machines and stock-paper. We can localize the two main war crises of America, as in many other nations, at the beginning of the three periods of The industrial evolution. The Civil war started at the beginning of the first Industrial Evolution in America [age of railroads]. The World War started at the beginning of the second Industrial Evolution [age of Metal-minds]. We are now starting the third Industrial Evolution [age of Robotics and networks]:

Why war is so profitable to the economic ecosystem? Because it multiplies the main species of machines, and so it reproduces profits that measure sales-reproduction. In that sense war is the natural ecosystem of 'top predator machines': mental and physical weapons, violent TV-eyes, and violent lineal guns go together...

It is the combined effect of business, mass-media dramatism, social tension provoked by economical poverty, and political/economical fundamentalism, what causes the cycle of war. The parallelism between the ups of stock-market profits in times of war for the winning nation, makes lobbyism to back war, when it is necessary to produce war machines in order to achieve profits during an age of over saturation of peaceful machines. Today we are reproducing thanks to this crisis informatic machines of war, which are mutations evolved from original peaceful machines. Their use in the present war crisis (with billionaire investments in security industries, such as scanners, human recognition, metal recognition, cameras, etc.), give enormous profits to politicians checking on lobbies, and military industries. Ultimately it is obvious that the sickness of the American civilization - lobbyism - is the main cause of the repetitive response to Global Terrorism: Global Militarism. And the coincidence of the main economical cycle - the long 80 years wave or Kondriatiev cycle - and the main war cycle - the 80 year cycle of World Wars - during the past 4 centuries, proves that Lobbyism has been indeed endemic in the leading World democracies of America, Germany, and Great Britain which started all those wars...

The short cycle of splendid little wars.

Yet if wars are provoked by economic lobbies, it should follow that other shorter cycles of economical crisis would bring also smaller cycles of war. The main short cycle of economics is the 7/9 year cycle of a product. Each 7-9 years a new generation of products appears, and so new weapons have to be tested in their natural market - war. So there is a renewed military lobbyist activity every 8 years or so, which tends to bring GOP politicians in America, fond of war... The coincidence between the political cycles of 'war presidents' mainly Republican, the product cycle of Military industries with new generations of weapons, and the short 18 years cycle of 'splendid little wars' make then sense. The 3 cycles become symbiotic in the 'militaristic nation' as the different cycles of your organism synchronize each other. In that sense Mr. Bush Sr. and Mr. Bush Jr. have done two splendid little wars within a decade. Both are lobbyists for big military companies. Those industries have tested their last technological warfare machines in those wars. And two Islamic nations in the hands of extreme militaristic regimes have played ball. Chicken and egg, military lobbyisms and military inquisitions have gone hand to hand to spoil the life of the common people of Islam and Jewish-America which desire in their immense majority, even in Israel, peace over war, lover over hate. Yet once war starts, Metal communicators soon put everybody behind the 'caudillo'. So most Israeli and Americans back today their neo-fascist leaders, and probably if we had made a poll in Iraq, or Afghanistan days before the war, they would have enthusiastically backed their 'terrorist' regimes. Of course those cycles are 'economical', and so they suggest action to politicians which might show a certain degree of free will and fight for peace. To a certain extent this was the case of the first essay for our 8 year splendid war: Kosovo 1999. Mr. Clinton went to war in Kosovo, yet he reduced the size of that war. It seemed not enough as we enter the neofascist age. So only 2 years latter a bigger war has started. And if we are not careful, and 'expand the spider web', we might be entering in an age of increasing war till III World War breaks open...

Let us study the long 80 year cycle of metal-minds, divided in smaller 8 year cycles of economical activity, which of course bring smaller wars, 'little splendid wars' such as the wars we are witnessing in this decade. Let us map them, during the last 80 years period, between II and III World war:

The periodic 8 years mini-economical crisis, and the parallel cycle of 'splendid little wars', is the fundamental historical cycle studied in our books in the evolution of machines, that shows an astonishing regularity in the past 4 centuries. The long cycle of 80 years, made up of 10 shorter cycle of 7-9 years with phases of economical boom and crashing recessions becomes in this manner the main 'marker' of war.

The previous graph was written in 1994. We considered that around 12000 there would be a war 'against an Arab nation?'. In 1999 the Muslim Kosovars were the ground victims of such a war. In 2001 the Afghans have suffered war... Coincidental, prophetic? No. Merely the natural cycles of a wrong economic ecosystem, fundamentalist in what regards money and technology, which hypocritically thinks only in profit terms, despite all their humanistic speeches in favor of human rights, life and liberty. The crisis of 2001, is a short economical cycle crisis, parallel to the crisis of 1921, 80 years ago, which preceded the long 80 year cyclical crash of 1929... In 1921 neofascism arrived to Europe, in Spain (Primo de Rivera) and Italy (Mussolini) We are indeed, in the last short cyclical economical crisis before the great recession of the XXI century.

The political cycle

The political cycle between peace politicians and war politicians follows of course the previous cycle, for the very simple reason that American politicians are Lobbyists for companies. Lobbyism as the form of Government in America comes at least from the times of Lincoln, a Lobbyist for the Illinois Railroad company, which sold the laws of America to railroad barons such as Lesley Stanford...

This means that Company-mothers interested in war, lobby for war, and when they are wealthier than those who lobby for peace products, war starts. Such cycle are mathematical. And that is why we forecast the present war in our first books on bio-economics. Let us quote from 'Bio-economics" ) 94 (published by bookmasters in 97) such premonitory texts:

"The game continues: America is researching small Nuclear devices that will be used in the future by desperado Third World terrorists to attack American cities. Researchers are giving Computers total knowledge of the explosion procedure. Hence the ban of surface A-tests, since now - alas the solution has been founded! - computers can do the testing in their own brains.

The function of war is the most advanced function of machines. Because Animetals always use innovative technologies first in instruments of war. The function exists in Human form: it is the function of warriors; and in machine form: it is the function of weapons. Only recently the function of war has become purely mechanical with the arrival of a new type of war, the computer wars, initiated by the American warrior machine, in 1991 [Desert storm.] No longer a human warrior culture can, as in the case of Vietnam, resist a military attack from an economical culture.
